What is a subcommittee?

A subcommittee is part of a committee and consists of committee members only. Often, subcommittees are established because their members have special rights or the subcommittee shall focus on a certain topic. 

Example:

The Advisory Board-Committee of the Summer GmbH established an Auditing Subcommittee that is entitled to appoint an auditor.
